Brewing Your Yerba Mate
The tradition of drinking yerba mate plays an important part of the South American culture. It is enjoyed accross South America but especially in the Southern countries – Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argnentina. It is typically drunk from natural gourd with is hollowed out and dried to be used as a cup. It is then sipped through a bombilla – a metal straw that has a filtered end to separate the yerba leaves from the infusion. This is a great central activity while groups of friends and family come together to chat, and spend time together.
