Blends that don’t have stems tend to be stronger than blends with stems (the stems serve to “dilute” the yerba) This Vitality blend is the same as the original “blue pack” Taragui Azul which is the traditional non-stem blend by Taragui.
The main differences are firstly the packaging redesign and rebranding. In order to give added protection against moisture a higher grade package is used. Secondly the Rainforest Alliance (RAS) has certified this item. This means the social and environmental conditions met in the production of this blend are of the highest standard, and reforestation is part of this. The tradition of drinking yerba mate is such an important part of the South American culture.
