Increasingly, french press cafetieres have become popular for use with yerba mate. We are often asked about preparing yerba mate as an infusion using a coffee filter. It is actually a great idea if for whatever reason you don’t wish to prepare your yerba mate in the traditional way.
This French press vacuum flask jug is ideal because you can brew up to 1 litre of your desired infusion and then either serve several people, or keep topping your own drink up. Simply place in the flask your desired ingredients. We recommend for savoury mate the following procedure:

Use and Care
Place 1 tablespoon of original yerba mate in the hug and then fill with water around 83C. By using hot water that isn’t boiling, you avoid burning the yerba leaves. Burn yerba leaves give a bitter taste. Replace the lid with the filter in the highest position. Allow to brew for 2-3 minutes and then plunge the filter to the bottom, leaving the lid in place. The drink is now ready to serve. Adjust the strength adding more or less yerba, and allowing to brew for more or less time.
Risk of scalding! Always take care when serving hot beverages. Ensure lid is secured properly to prevent leakage. Keep flask upright at all times, it’s only for table top use and keep out of reach of children.
Replace lid when not in continual use to enhance temperature performance. Keep away from direct heat, and don’t use to carry carbonated drinks, warm milk or baby food. Never use in a microwave or conventional oven.
To clean, rinse with soapy water. It is not suitable for use in a dishwasher. Keep dry between uses. Don’t use abrasive chemicals, metal implements or scourers for cleaning against the surface of the flask
